You subscribed to Viari (or another automation tool), set up campaigns, and 4-6 weeks later you're not seeing results. Follower growth is flat, DMs aren't getting replies, conversions are zero. You're starting to think automation doesn't work.
Automation at 50 actions/day isn't going to make you famous. The math: if 1% of targeted users become followers, 50 actions = 0.5 new followers/day = 15/month. That's not broken, that's normal math. Fix: scale volumes up (to 100-150 actions/day on healthy accounts) or lower expectations about what one account at conservative settings produces.
If your target list has poor signal-to-noise ratio, automation does lots of actions with low conversion. Fix: audit target list. Are these people actually in your ICP? Can you point to a specific signal showing they have the problem your offer solves?
If your account has any shadowban or soft-flag, automation actions show up but don't reach target inboxes. You send DMs but they get filtered. Fix: check for shadowban (hashtag test), audit account health, pause automation for 7-14 days if issues found.
Automation volume amplifies bad messages — you just send more bad messages to more people. Fix: test 3 different templates for 2 weeks each, kill losers, keep only what actually gets replies.
Automation results compound. Week 1-2: setup only. Week 3-4: first meaningful data. Week 5-8: patterns emerge. Week 9+: scale and optimize. Judging at week 4 is premature. Fix: commit to 90 days minimum before evaluating whether automation works for your setup.
Automation working but seeming to fail usually means one specific input is wrong. Fix the wrong input, don't abandon the approach. The operators winning ran the same 90 days first.
