New Instagram accounts pushed straight into automation die fast. Properly warmed accounts survive years. Here's the 30-day workflow that takes a new or cold account from zero to full automation readiness.
Create the account on a phone, not a browser. Use a fresh email (not one already tied to your other accounts). Use a phone number not used for other Instagram accounts. Fill out the profile completely: profile photo, bio, link, first 3 posts. These steps tell Instagram this is a real user. Do not use proxies or VPNs on day 1 — use your regular home internet.
No automation at all. Use the Instagram app normally from your phone: scroll 20-30 minutes daily, follow 5-15 accounts per day manually, like a few posts, save some content, watch Stories. Post 1-2 pieces of content total during the week. The goal is building a behavior history that looks like a new real user.
Set up your residential or mobile proxy on day 8 — after Instagram has registered your account as a real user on your home IP. Log out on phone, log in via Viari using the proxy. Do not do any automation yet. Just establish the proxy as the account's normal login location by leaving Viari open and browsing manually through it for 30 minutes. This teaches Instagram's risk engine that the proxy is now this user's normal session location.
Now you can start automation, but very conservatively. Daily limits for the first week of automation: 10-15 follows, 20-30 likes, 5 Story views, 0 comments, 0 DMs. Let the account accumulate 7 days of this pattern before scaling. Continue posting content from your phone or Viari's scheduler at 1-2 posts per week.
Scale up: 25-35 follows/day, 50-70 likes/day, 10-15 Story views, 5-8 comments per day. Still no DMs. Comments should be AI-generated with Viari's reply engine — short, contextual, not generic 'great post!' patterns. Posting cadence continues at 1-2 per week.
Final warmup week. Scale to target volume: 50-80 follows/day, 100-150 likes, 15-25 Story views, 10-15 comments. Add DM capability at 15-25 DMs per day maximum. By day 30, the account runs at full operational capacity with ban-risk signals minimized.
Every 30 days after warmup, give the account a 'rest day' — no automation for 24 hours, just you scrolling the Instagram app normally for a bit. This breaks up patterns in Instagram's risk engine and keeps your account looking like a real user. Takes 10 minutes a month per account, reduces long-term ban risk significantly.
The warmup phase feels too slow when you want to scale fast. But the math always favors it: a properly warmed account runs for years, an unwarmed account dies in weeks. Patience is the cheapest ban-prevention tool.
